What is the cost of studying in Thailand?

Every year about 20,000 foreign students studies in Thailand. Which examinations/tests are required to apply and study in Thailand?

Visa to study in Thailand

Quite similar to most of the countries, to study in Thailand for a prolonged period, to be precise, more than 90 days, international students are first required to obtain an Education Visa (Non-immigrant ED visa) from the Thai Embassy or consulate in their country of origin. Following this, post-arrival in Thailand, they need to procure a one-year student visa, which can be later extended for one more year, if required. The visa fee is $60 (TBH 1,900).

Most of the time, the university or institution where the student applies help them out with all the paperwork. To obtain the Education visa, a student must have at least $650 and $1,300 in their bank account, for single and students with families respectively. This is to exhibit that the students have adequate money to stay and study in Thailand.

Note: Once the visa is received, international students are required to notify the Immigration office every 90 days of their current address. Failing to do this can attract a penalty of around $63.
